More than just a multipurpose court

KUCHING: A new multipurpose court which will be built at SMK St Anthony, Sarikei shows the state government’s commitment to providing proper infrastructure for students to pursue their education.

Repok assemblyman Datuk Seri Huang Tiong Sii said the school which has a rich history needed a solid plan of redevelopment.

“As we know, this school is not only one of the earliest educational institutions in the district but often has excellent academic and co-curricular records of achievements.

“SMK St Anthony often garners attention due to its reputation and commitment which has produced many excellent students and credible figures.

“This proves that the Sarawak government always strives to do its best to ensure that the students of SMK St Anthony can enjoy a modern, safe and comfortable infrastructure,” he said.

He said this when officiating at the groundbreaking ceremony of the school’s new multipurpose court construction project here, today.

Huang said the state government’s emphasis on development could be seen throughout Sarikei where infrastructure development in the area is now a common sight.

“Through the implementation of various development projects and with the determination from the Sarawak government, Sarikei will become a centre of economic growth in the central region.

“This project also demonstrates the efficiency of the state government under the leadership of the Chief Minister Datuk Patinggi Abang Johari Tun Openg.

“May our noble efforts continue to be enhanced to create more success in the future,” he said.
