KUCHING: The Sarawak government’s initiative in helping the B40 group to buy houses costing RM120,000 or below can benefit more people, said Tan Kai, a political secretary to the chief minister.
He said the state government’s Spektra Permata housing project which targets the B40 group can also eliminate squatting in urban areas.
“Therefore, I strongly support the initiative announced by Chief Minister Datuk Patinggi Abang Johari Tun Openg to help the B40 group,” he said today.
As announced by Abang Johari, those eligible could also take up housing loans from the government’s financing facility, Mutiara Mortgage & Credit.
“The repayment for a 40-year loan term period can be paid with two generations; paid with interest of only one percent and it is roughly RM300 monthly,” he said.
Tan Kai said he believed with such facilities provided by the government, it can help the B40 group to be able to own houses legitimately in the state.
Meanwhile, Abang Johari when attending the Kuching North City Commission’s (DBKU) friendly neighbourhood (KJM) dinner last Friday announced that the B40 group can buy houses developed by the state government priced RM120,000 and below.
The chief minister also said the B40 group could take up a housing loan from Mutiara Mortgage & Credit with interest of only one percent.
