More villages to get upgraded roads soon

DALAT: A few roads in some villages here will soon be upgraded at a combined cost of RM1.2 million.

Mukah Public Works Department (JKR) will implement the projects which are under the rural transformation programme (RTP).

On Thursday Abang Hashim Zainuddin who represented Mukah MP Datuk Hanifah Hajar Taib visited the sites of the projects.

He was accompanied by assistant Dalat District Officer Alescia Was, JKR staff Nur Lokman Lokeng, Farah Adiba Zaidi and local leaders.

It is understood that the total cost involved was RM1.2 million.

The upgrading work for the 322-metre long Jalan Kampung Penat and Jalan Kampung Kekan (431.6 metres) would cost RM300,000 each.

For the road to the Muslim cemetery in Oya which is 39.8 metres long, and the 338.8-metre long road to a similar cemetery in Dalat, the contract value is also RM300,000 each.
