KUCHING: Two cars parked in front of a two-storey house along Jalan Kong Ping were engulfed by flames early this morning.
A spokesman for the Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) said firemen from Batu Lintang station were despatched to the scene after they received a distress call around 4.35 am.
No injuries or casualties were reported as the three tenants managed to get to safety.
The fire was still raging when the firefighters arrived and they had to rely on a nearby fire hydrant to put out the flames which destroyed two cars and damaged the car porch.
The fire was brought under control around 4.50 am.
The cause of the fire and losses incurred are still under investigation.
