KUCHING: The mosques and surau throughout the Tanjung Datu constituency have received additional funding for Ramadan.
Its assemblywoman Datuk Amar Jamilah Anu presented a total of RM69,000 in funds channelled by the Santubong parliamentary service centre.
“Together we must enliven the month of Ramadan this year despite the restrictions imposed due to the conditional movement control order (CMCO) following the Covid-19 pandemic,” she said.
She said this when representing Federal Entrepreneur Development and Cooperatives Minister Datuk Seri Wan Junaidi Tuanku Jaafar in a ceremony at Dewan Mahligai Gading Lundu on Thursday.
Previously, the assemblywoman presented a total of RM35,200 in contributions to mosques and surau in Tanjung Datu for this year’s Ihya Ramadan programme.
This went to 15 mosques, 17 surau and four villages without mosques or surau.
During the Ihya Ramadan programme, the Lembaga Amanah Penyu also presented a total of RM33,000 to 33 villages in the district.
