KUCHING: Sarawak Eco-Warriors and Kuching Beach Cleaners will organise a soap making workshop this Saturday in conjunction with Mother’s Day.

May Lo, who is the organiser of the workshop from Sarawak Eco-Warriors, said that the workshop would not only encourage the public to choose a sustainable lifestyle and a simple alternative to regular soaps that are easy and cheap to make at home and are worth the time and money from the health perspective.

The workshop is funded by the Global Environment Facility (GEF) under United Nations Development Programme (UNDP).

It will be led by Ms Genevieve Wong from @relise__oliver on Instagram, a mother of two, who is also an experienced soap-maker in Kuching City.

“When her daughter started to have eczema eight years, she learnt to produce her own soap independently with the sources that she has,” said Lo.

She added that in the workshop, participants would be able to learn how to make soaps from natural ingredients that could be found in the TANAMI community garden.

“This workshop will be conducted from 2 pm to 5 pm at the Dyslexia Association of Sarawak,” she said.

Lo added,”This Mother’s Day, not only are we celebrating the amazing women who brought us life, but also Mother Earth which sustains everything around us, living and non living.
