KUCHING: A motorcycle which had stopped at a traffic light near the Malaysia-China Friendship Park, Jalan Song here suddenly caught fire last Thursday (Nov 3).
The State Fire Department operations centre said they received a distress call at 7.04pm and despatched firemen from Tabuan Jaya fire station to the scene.
Upon arrival, they found the motorcycle still burning while the rider had managed to exit safely.
A passing motorist had earlier tried to put out the blaze using a fire extinguisher but failed because of the intense heat.
Firemen successfully extinguished the fire from the charred remains of the bike.
There were no reports of casualties in the incident.
