KOTA SAMARAHAN: A motorcyclist was killed in a collision with a multipurpose vehicle (MPV) last Saturday.
State Traffic Investigation and Enforcement chief Supt Alexson Naga Chabu said the accident happened at Taman Samarax junction along the Jalan Samarahan/Mambong.
“The accident happened at around 2.35pm along Jalan Samarahan/Mambong, involving a motorcycle and an MPV.
“The victim, Zain Abdullah @ Kueh Kiang Heng, 64, is believed to be riding on the left lane of the two lane heading towards Kota Samarahan from Mile 15, Padawan.
“As the victim reached the junction, the MPV which was coming from the opposite direction from Kota Samarahan turned right into the junction.
“The motorcycle then collided with the MPV at the entrance of the junction, causing damages to both vehicles,” said Alexson.
The victim was confirmed dead by medical officials died instantly at the scene.
The fatal accident is being investigated under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987.
