SIBU: A motorist sustained severe injuries when his car went out of control and crashed at Jalan Salim-Stabau on Saturday (Nov 14).

Sarawak Fire Department Zone 4 (Sibu) chief Janggan Muling said the victim suffered a broken right wrist and a broken right leg.

Sibu fire station received a distress call at 9.39am and despatched a team of firefighters to the scene.

“Upon arrival, they found the car inside a ditch. It is believed that the car had gone out of control and crashed into a tree before landing in the ditch,” he explained.

Janggan said the victim had managed to get out of the car.

The firefighters provided early treatment to the victim before paramedics took him to Sibu Hospital for further treatment.
