KUCHING: Sibuti MP Lukanisman Awang Sauni on Sunday (Feb 14) paid a series of visits to areas in his constituency affected by the high tide and flash floods resulting from heavy rains the day before.

Beginning with a visit to the Tiris area, he said the issue was that the river flow needed to be cleaned up. He said there was also the need for drainage system planning.

“Then, I went to Saeh to visit several longhouses, namely Rh Ayai, Rh Nelson, Rh Sumob, Rh Jelani, and Rh Nyala,” he said in a Facebook post on Sunday (Feb 14).

“Aside from the issue of floods, the residents complained about the children’s education, weak broadband, non-functioning telecommunication towers, as well as theft and security issues,” he said.

A number of these matters will be followed by appropriate action, assured the parliamentarian.
