KOTA SAMARAHAN: Kota Samarahan Municipal Council (MPKS) is eagerly waiting for the stage bus service transformation (SBST) to be in place and operational soon as it will cover Samarahan apart from Kuching areas.

MPKS chairman Dato Peter Minos, who is also deputy chairman of Commercial Vehicle Licensing Board (LPKP) Sarawak, said it was very good tht LPKP and other agencies had included Samarahan in their scheme of things.

“Operated by a consortium of five existing bus companies and heavily backed/supported by the government, SBST will see the use of new all air-conditioned buses which will be user-friendly and equipped with latest safetyand other gadgets.

“Bus users will hvve big and pleasant surprises – thanks to very heavy government financial support to the whole SBST exercise.

“Surprises are on and above the new best buses and the best bus comfort n facilities,” said Minos.

Starting in Kuching and Samarahan, hopefully other towns and cities will be covered by SBST over the years. .
