KUCHING: Padawan Municipal Council (MPP) will continue its efforts to assist the people in registering for the Covid-19 vaccination programme by holding registration sessions at markets over the next two Saturdays.

The next registration session will be held at the 3rd Mile Sungai Maong Market this Saturday from 8am to 12pm, while the following session would be at the 10th Mile Kota Padawan Market on Saturday next week from 8am to 12pm.

“We started at the 7th Mile Market last Saturday, assisting to register those who were unable to register themselves for the Covid-19 vaccine,” said MPP chairman Lo Khere Chiang.

“We are going to the ground and to all our markets,” he said during a press conference via Zoom after the MPP full council meeting today.

He urged members of the public to attend these registration sessions at the aforementioned locations if they required assistance in registering for the Covid-19 vaccine.

At the same time, he encouraged people who had smartphones to register for the Covid-19 vaccine via the MySejahtera application.

On another matter, he also handed over posters on the new norm to councillors to be shared with community leaders and villages within MPP’s jurisdiction.

Lo said this effort was in view of the rampant spread of Covid-19 within numerous village areas.

“Last time, Covid-19 was found in the urban areas, but today Covid-19 has spread to the villages. That is why we are trying to bring Covid-19 education into the villages.

“These posters remind the people to wear face masks, maintain social distancing, and wash their hands frequently,” he said.
