KUCHING: The passing of the 2021 Budget showed the maturity of members of parliament (MPs) to give way for the federal government to administer the nation, said Deputy Chief Minister Tan Sri Datuk Amar Dr James Jemut Masing.

He said the federal government of the day, led by Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin, has been doing very well in managing the Covid-19 pandemic crisis which drew acknowledgement from the MPs.

“This showed that our MPs are mature enough to allow this government to continue administering this nation, especially during this pandemic.

“Muhyiddin’s government, I believe, had done very well in managing the impact of Covid-19, and the MPs acknowledged that and voted this Budget through,” he said today.

Masing further said that the challenges posed by this health pandemic were a deadly threat to Malaysia and the world in general.

“However, our leaders are capable of the task and made the correct decisions to calm our people down from panicking!

“I really hope and pray that our MPs, from now onwards, would reduce politicking and apply their knowledge and expertise to make this nation a better place for everybody regardless of religion or race,” he added.
