MIRI: The Welfare, Health & Community Sub-Committee of the Malaysian Red Crescent (MRC) Miri Branch extended a visit to two families facing socioeconomic challenges.

During the visit, the MRC committee delivered an informative session covering the hazards of plastics, the significance of cleanliness, and the importance of adopting a healthy diet to educate the families.

“Miri City Council’s Mohd Shobri Mohamad briefed the two families on the services provided by the council and the appropriate channels for addressing related issues,” stated the MRC.

As part of their initiative to highlight the dangers of plastic containers, the committee distributed stainless-steel food containers to the families. These containers were generously donated by an anonymous group of contributors, a gesture for which the MRC Miri Branch expressed its heartfelt appreciation.

The visit also included the distribution of essential items such as food, baby diapers, and clothing to the families in need.

In a press release, the MRC pointed out that such visits will be organised periodically, and they encouraged more volunteers to come forward and join their efforts to contribute to the betterment of the community.
