SIBU: Members of the Malaysian Red Crescent (MRC) Sibu district have been advised to comply with the standard operating procedures (SOPs) strictly as the Covid-19 pandemic is not yet over.

According to its chairman Penghulu Chua Hiong Kee, the pandemic has changed the way people live and interact with each other.

“The new norm has brought many difficulties and disturbances to the movement of our district,” he said at the MRC Society Sibu District annual general meeting (AGM) here last Sunday.

Chua therefore believes that the pandemic is the right time for everyone to open their minds to new ideas.

“So, together, let’s make MRC Sibu district even better,” he said.

In the AGM, Chua was re-elected as the chairman of MRC Sibu district for the term 2020 to 2022.

The full list of office bearers for said term are Hii Sieh Toh (deputy chairman), Edward Lau Hui Bean (vice chairman I), Normah Abdulrahman (vice chairperson II), Jamali Yew Abdullah (honorary secretary), Huong Haw Ching (honorary secretary), Teresa Wong Sui Kiew (assistant treasurer), Dr, Rachel Teng Li Cin (medical officer), Irenceda Ching Ai Ling (nursing superintendent), and Ting Hieng Hock (publicity officer).
