SIMANGGANG: A Minor Rural Project (MRP) allocation of RM10,000 has been approved for the Sri Aman Buddhist Association.

“Meanwhile, for the Rural Transformation Project (RTP), involving the construction of a fence around the association’s premises on Foochow Road, Sri Aman, the management was advised to submit a letter of application to Unit For Other Religion (UNIFOR),” said Deputy Minister of Education, Innovation and Talent Development Datuk Francis Harden Hollis.

He said this during the Wesak Day celebration held at the Sri Aman Buddhist Association premises today (May 22).

Harden also commended the association for its transparent management of funds provided by the government through UNIFOR.

“We greatly hope that every association practises transparent governance so that all members are aware without suspicion, especially regarding financial matters.

“We are also encouraged to be grateful to the government for its substantial assistance in developing and expanding an association,” he said.

The Simanggang assemblyman highlighted the proactive efforts of the association in community service, including counselling services in collaboration with Sri Aman Central Prison and food basket assistance programmes for those in need.
