KUALA LUMPUR: “This government may not be the government that you voted for. But I want all of you to know that this government cares for you.

“I accepted to the fact that I came in as your Prime Minister not at the best moment. I face political, economic and health crisis all at the same time.

“We are not perfect, but we are doing the best we can to pull through this crisis together, as one nation. God willing, we will come out stronger when this crisis ends and the dust settles”

These snippets of the emotional speech made by the Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin in the tabling of the People-Centric Economic Stimulus Package (Prihatin) yesterday, that has struck Malaysian heart with his warmth and frankness.

@mdsyahmi77 in his twitter account wrote, “In that speech, he said that ‘I came in as your PM not at the best moment as I face political, health &economic crisis at the same time’. It may not be fair for Muhyiddin, but the way he controls and solve the situation shows that he is a great & good leader. #MyPM.”

@ShashumitaNair tweeted, Tan Sri Muhyiddin is doing so much. Yes I doubted him at first but I honestly appreciate everything he’s doing. Imagine this (Covid-19) being the task you have to face right after being elected as the PM of Malaysia.”

@MhdAkmall7 said, “Tan Sri Muhyiddin Hassin did more in a month than Pakatan Harapan did in two years. That says a lot. TSMY is the PM that we deserve.”

@masfaizhakim wrote “Our beloved PM is doing his best. Never thought that i would ever say this, but Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin is indeed the PM that we deserve.”

@jasonleong tweeted “A good sincere speech that came from the heart by PM @muhyiddin_my.  Respect & salute my PM. Many people have failed to appreciate his great political will to order an extension of the MCO by another 14 days. Lesser men & jurassics would have failed us & endangered us all.”

While @kpopechi tweeted “To be honest our prime minister Muhyiddin Yassin did a great job despite just recently being the prime minister. He nailed it. Even with our country lack of funds & tons of debts, you still provide the best for the nation. May Allah bless you & ease your job as the prime minister.”

Meanwhile, Izzati Noor in her Facebook post said “Thanks PM. I’m loving this govt more than any govt I’ve voted before. I love how he handle the situation, the position he is in during this crisis. He was elected by our Agong, not by us. But Agong, a very wise man, knew that he is the one. Let’s hope when this Covid thingy ends, he’ll continue to be the best. #PMjagakita #kitajagakita.”

Based on various posts and tweets sighted online, it would indeed be fair to say that Muhyiddin; not only is he the Prime Minister we all needed, but he is also the Prime Minister we all deserve. Hats off! – Bernama
