Mukah fire victims receive aid

MUKAH: The Fire Relief Fund launched at Setia Raja Mukah Mosque successfully collected financial aid and essential items.

The Setia Raja Mosque presented the contribution from Mukah qoriah members to the victims of the fire in Kampung Sungai Alo Mukah amounting to RM5,112 on Friday evening.

A donation from Deputy Minister of Economy and Mukah MP Datuk Hanifah Hajar Taib was also handed over by the Mukah Service Centre officer to Seliman Drahman, the owner of a house involved in a fire in Kampung Sungai Alo Resettlement Scheme on March 1.

The spokesperson of the Setia Raja Mosque thanked all the donors, adding that those who wish to make further donations in the form of used clothes (Grade A only) and basic necessities can send them directly to Setia Raja Mukah Mosque.

For the record, a total of seven school children were among the fire victims, of which three were in primary school, one in pre-school, two in secondary school and another studying in Form 6 of Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan Agama Igan.

Seliman Drahman, the owner of the house involved, thanked all the people who have donated in the form of cash and other basic necessities.
