MUKAH: Kenyalang Gold Card (KGC) applicants whose cards are ready for collection at the Mukah Division Welfare Community Department here have begun collecting their cards on Monday (Oct 12).

Ketua kaum (KK) Bedari Marsi, 56, from Kampung Sesok Baharu here, was one of the many people seen coming out of the department’s office.

Bedari said he collected the KGCs on behalf of the recipients after they had given him their consent to do so.

“I am helping eight applicants to collect their KGCs,” he told New Sarawak Tribune.

He recalled that the KGCs were ready for collection after about four to five months after eligible folk sent in their applications personally, or through him.

Bedari added that he received the list of applicants, which was forwarded by the Mukah Division community leaders and village chiefs (KMKK).

The list contains over 1,000 names of eligible individuals whose KGCs are ready for collection, and they were advised to collect their cards as soon as possible. They are among the 7,000 applicants from Mukah district.

It was also reported that the department has four local strategic partners (SPs) so far, where cardholders could enjoy discounts or rebates for goods sold or services provided by the SPs.
