Mukah police all set for polls

MUKAH: Police here are all set for the 12th state election, the date for which is expected to be announced soon.

District police chief DSP Muhamad Rizal Alias, said some 131 personnel would be deployed here for the election.

The district police headquarters will also be receiving support from 38 personnel from elsewhere in the Sarawak contingent and will serve at polling centres and voting streams.

“The total polling centres under the jurisdiction of Mukah police is 59, comprising the Tellian, Balingian and Tamin constituencies,” he said in a statement on Tuesday (Nov 9).

According to him, police will also receive assistance from 130 People’s Volunteers Corps (Rela) members.
