KUCHING: Murum assemblyman Kennedy Chukpai Ugan said the Agriculture Community Outreach Programme (AgriCOP) would benefit farmers in the constituency.
“Among the purposes of the programme is to provide information on agricultural projects or programmes that have been and will be implemented as well as promote high impact agricultural projects.
“This is as well as to introduce the use of modern technology in the agricultural sector such as fertigation, hydroponics and the use of Internet of Things (IoT) among others,” he said in a Facebook post on Wednesday.
On Tuesday, the Murum assemblyman officiated at the launch of the Murum-level AgriCOP programme at Uma Penan Lusong Laku, Ulu Sungai Linau.
The programme was organised by the Belaga Agriculture Department, Kapit division in collaboration with the Belaga Area Farmers Organisation (PPK).
“We hope this programme will inject a sense of enthusiasm and add knowledge to the participants in agriculture,” said Chukpai.
Also present were representatives from the Belaga PPK, Belaga Agriculture Department, Sarawak Agriculture Department Headquarters and Uma Penan Lusong Laku Village Security and Development Committee (JKKK).
