SARIKEI: Urban Planning, Land Administration and Environment Assistant Minister Datuk Len Talif Salleh together with the Muslim community here celebrated Hari Raya Aidiladha on Sunday by performing the ritual sacrifice according to Islamic teachings.

The ritual sacrifice at Masjid Al-Mutaqqin was attended by various government agencies, NGOs and Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS) members.

Len, who is also Kuala Rajang assemblyman, also attended the ritual sacrifice at Surau Darul Sa’adah, Taman Susur Jambu.

Thirty-eight cows were sacrificed this year — Len, through the Kuala Rajang Service Centre, contributed 22, the Kuala Rajang Islamic Welfare Board contributed nine, Repok assemblyman Datuk Seri Huang Tiong Sii contributed five while the Sarikei Islamic Welfare Board contributed two.

The cows were distributed to villages, mosques and suraus around Sarikei and Tanjung Manis.
