KUCHING: Apart from high standards, expertise, and professionalism among teachers, the school management also plays an important role with regard to students’ education.
In saying this Demak Laut assemblyman Dr Hazland Abang Hipni pointed out that focus should be made on the teaching and learning of vital subjects.
“Taking that initiative, the government has focused on technical subjects such as Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics (STEAM).
“The same goes for English Language subject, which is now a necessity in Science and Mathematics subjects, aside from mastering Bahasa Malaysia in primary and secondary schools.
“Besides that, the use of digital technology is also necessary in line with today’s environment which heavily utilises computers, internet, and smartphones for teaching and learning,” he said after handing over annual fund for the SK Tabuan Hilir Parent-Teacher Association (PTA) recently.
He added that the support and cooperation of all parties, including the school management and parents, was required to ensure that students underwent effective learning.
He said a conducive environment was much needed to ensure that teaching and learning could be implemented without any issues.
“This includes the use of the latest technology, teaching and learning methods and internet requirements which can be adapted by students in today’s era of technology,” he said.
At the ceremony, Dr Hazland handed annual fund for SK Tabuan Hilir PTA amounting to RM10,000, which was received by its president Jaafar Dollah.
