MYAirline offers fixed fares for Gawai celebration

KUCHING: MYAirline has announced its participation in the government’s initiative to provide fixed fares during the Kaamatan Festival and Hari Gawai by offering fixed prices for up to 4,000 seats.

According to a press statement issued by the airline, travellers can now take advantage of attractive fixed base fares for all MYAirline routes between Kuala Lumpur and East Malaysia at RM300 for one-way travel.

In line with the government’s mandate, this strategic undertaking showcases MYAirline’s commitment to enhancing travel accessibility and affordability for both residents and visitors during these significant cultural events.

“The Ministry of Transport has mandated recently that all airlines in Malaysia are to extend fixed fares to travellers for flights between Peninsular Malaysia and Sabah, as well as Peninsular Malaysia and Sarawak. This move reflects the government’s commitment to fostering connectivity and promoting travel within the country,” the statement explained.

Passengers will also enjoy a generous 20kg check-in baggage allowance, ensuring a seamless and comfortable journey.

Its chief executive officer (CEO), Rayner Teo, felt honoured in being a part of the government’s initiative to provide fixed fares during these festive celebrations.

Teo said that by offering fixed base fares of RM300 for one-way tickets, MYAirline aims to contribute significantly to the travel demand and boost connectivity between Peninsular and East Malaysia while supporting the country’s tourism industry.

In line with MYAirline’s commitment to making travel accessible and affordable for everyone, Teo mentioned that the airline has consistently supported the government’s calls to action, including reducing airfares and increasing flight frequencies during festive holidays.

The fixed fare promotion is available for booking from 20 to 31 May 2023, and the promotion will be valid for travel between 27 to 29 May 2023 for Sabah routes and 29 to 31 May 2023 for Sarawak routes.

“This window presents an excellent opportunity for individuals and families to plan their trips and fly home to Sabah or Sarawak during these festive seasons. MYAirline’s East Malaysian routes encompass a range of exciting destinations, including Kota Kinabalu, Tawau, Kuching, Sibu, and Miri,” the statement highlighted.
