Ripin and Iskandar present donations to the asnaf at the Juh Berambeh Sungkei @Bintulu 20024 programme.

BINTULU: The state government through the Sarawak Ministry of Youth, Sports and Entrepreneur Development (MySED) is committed to continuing to help the youth through youth empowerment efforts towards economic development and improving skills among them, especially in the field of entrepreneurship.

Deputy Minister of Youth, Sports and Entrepreneur Development Datuk Dr Ripin Lamat said various initiatives and facilities were introduced by the state government for that purpose.

“On the part of MySED itself, we will always help the youth to continue running their businesses while also helping the youth economy itself,” he said when met by the media at the Juh Berambeh Sungkei @Bintulu 2024 programme at Lasar Kenyalang here, on Saturday.

According to him, MySED always encourages the involvement of youth in small and medium industries (SMEs) since entrepreneurship is an important and strategic component in driving Sarawak to achieve the status of a developed state in 2030.

Ripin added that the field of entrepreneurship has the potential to contribute to the socio-economic development of the state and the country’s productivity, thereby improving the standard and quality of life of the people, especially the youth.
