MIRI: A home-made shotgun, ammunitions and a number of drugs were found by the National Anti-Drugs Agency (Nada) Miri branch, following the arrest of two men early Wednesday morning in Kampung Sepurau, Sibuti.

The suspects, aged 35 and 37, were nabbed in a house at 12.43am (December 5) said State Criminal Investigation Department (CID) chief SAC Dennis Leong Soon Kuai.

“Both suspects have been remanded for four days to help the probe on illegal possession of 22 live bullets,” Leong opined.

The case is being investigated under Section 8(a) of the Firearms Act 1960.

Leong also said that the raid was conducted following public complaint and suspected drug abuse in the house.

“The home-made shotgun and ammunitions were concealed under the mattress in the suspect’s room,” he said.

The enforcement agency also found and seized a packet of transparent plastic package containing lumps of crystals suspected to be drugs and one transparent plastic container containing some red straw tube cuttings.
