Naim Foundation donates RM35,000 for pandemic victims

KUCHING: The charitable arm of Naim Group of Companies, Naim Foundation, has donated RM35,000 to a fundraising drive of Sarawak Chamber of Bumiputera Entrepreneurs (DUBS) to underprivileged rural families affected by the Covid-19 pandemic.

The donation will be spent on food baskets, face masks, hand sanitisers, and other items.

Head of the company’s corporate services, Hasmiah Anthony Hasbi, said the donation was made not only fulfil their corporate responsibility but also as a humanitarian gesture.

“The pandemic has had a significant impact on all of us. Despite the current business environment, and as a good corporate citizen and a member of DUBS, we are doing our part to support chamber’s fundraiser.

“We pray that everyone will be able to persevere during these trying times,” she said.

DUBS president Datuk Abang Helmi Ikhwan expressed his gratitude to Naim for the donation.

‘We are grateful for Naim’s contribution, especially when the business environment is challenging for companies in general.

“We hope to assist more needy people, and we also hope to see more companies emulating this noble and pleasant gesture,” he said.

Besides the donation, Naim had also made a contribution to the Sarawak State Disaster Relief Fund, donated medical supplies and equipment to hospitals; and gave food aid to workers such as labourers and security guards via ‘Naim Cares Food Aid’ corporate social responsibility programme.
