KUCHING: Women, Family and Community Development Minister Datuk Seri Nancy Shukri is determined to revamp her ministry. This is her aim in her first hundred days in office.

The Santubong Member of Parliament noted that the period is very important for her to be a catalyst in providing the best service for the people.

“Transforming this ministry is my resolution for the new year 2023. This transformation is for my ministry to provide better services to the community.

“In fact, so far there have been discussions and division of tasks among the ministry’s staff for us to transform services,” she said.

She told reporters this after her visit to the MamaCare Mini Spa at the Kuching Urban Transformation Centre (UTC) here today.

Nancy added that it also entails the transformation of services in terms of swift response, and she has already instructed her staff to complete the duties assigned within 100 days.

“All these efforts and initiatives are not for my family and me but for the best service of the ministry.

“I want the best service delivery to be given starting from the first 100 days of my holding this portfolio and it is already being implemented,” she said.

For the record, Nancy, 61, was appointed as one of the 28 full ministers in the Malaysian Unity Government on December 2 by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim.

Between March 2020 and last November, she served as Minister of Tourism, Arts, and Culture.

She holds an Executive Master of Business Administration from Ohio University in the United States and a Bachelor of Laws with Honours from the University of Hull in the United Kingdom.
