Nancy says appointment comes with responsibility, trust

KUCHING: Santubong MP Datuk Seri Nancy Shukri who has been appointed as the Minister of Women, Family and Community Development in the new federal Cabinet said she will continue to contribute to the development of society and the country.

She said the appointment comes with great responsibility and trust that she will take it as a challenge to continue to serve the community and the country.

“God willing, I will use my experience and good relationship with members of the Cabinet.

“This is to continue to contribute to the development of society and the country in addition to the cooperation of all the people of the Ministry of Women, Family and Community Development in this unity government,” she said in a statement on Saturday (Dec 3).

Nancy also thanked Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim for putting his trust in her to continue to serve the people.

“My victory in this general election is also thanks to the trust of Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg, as the chairman of Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS) as well as the entire party leadership and the aspirations of the people of Sarawak.

“Also, not forgetting my family members who always support me at all times, followed by all the citizens and government employees who are always committed to their duties to serve the people,” she said.

On another note, Nancy also expressed her appreciation to the Yang di-Pertuan Agong, Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri’ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah for the approval that led to the establishment of the unity government for the sake of political stability and public order in the country.
