Nanta conveys condolences, laments loss of Hardi

Late Hardi Effendi Yaacob

KUCHING: Special officer to the Domestic Trade and Consumer Affairs (KPDNHEP) Minister Datuk Seri Alexander Nanta Linggi, Hardi Effendi Yaacob, passed away on Friday.

Nanta expressed his condolences to the family of Hardi, who died at the age of 43. Hardi was a former journalist.

“As a special officer, Hardi was always dedicated in performing his duty, providing a service I greatly appreciated.

“Hardi was also a friendly person and had a great sense of humour. His laughter and friendliness will be missed by all,” he said in a Facebook post today.

The officials confirmed Hardi’s death at around 10pm, on Friday, after being unconscious at his house in Kampung Kerdas 3, Mile 6, Gombak, Kuala Lumpur.

Nanta conveyed his deepest sympathy to the wife, Leany Mokhtar, and the late Hardi’s two daughters, Nur Khayla Iman and Nur Khadeeja Iman.

“I would like to express my deepest appreciation and gratitude for Hardi’s services throughout his tenure as special officer. Indeed, his loss is mournfully felt,” said Nanta.

Hardi was also the Bureau chief for Berita Harian Sarawak before being appointed as the special officer to Nanta.
