MUKAH:  Several needy families in Kampung Sungai Alo and a resettlement scheme in the village affected by the movement control order (MCO) received essential goods donated by the public last Sunday.

The donation drive was initiated by Mukah Setia Raja Mosque Management Committee led by its chairman Ismail Mawi.

A village chief Ali Hamid helped in the house-to house distribution of the donated items to the recipients in Kampung Sungai Alo.

In the resettlement scheme in Kampung Sungai Alo, KK Razmah Mohamad assisted in the distribution.

On March 27, Mukah Setia Raja Mosque Management Committee in collaboration with the surau in various villages here also organised a similar programme.

The noble effort by the mosque and the donors was to ensure that needy families received food supply during the MCO.

Some of the recipients were daily paid workers with many dependants.

The MCO had been extended from April 1 to 14.
