Needy individuals receive Hari Raya gifts

KUCHING: Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg yesterday presented Hari Raya contributions to 125 orphans and individuals with disabilities from 12 villages within the Darul Hana project area here.

The contributions, amounting to RM12,500, were presented during the Majlis Iftar Ramadan Darul Hana 2022 at Borneo Convention Centre Kuching (BCCK). The event was hosted by the Land Custody and Development Authority (LCDA).

About 580 guests attended the event. The attendees were LCDA employees, Kampung Seberang Hilir community leaders, heads of department from relevant agencies, media officials and stakeholders involved in the Darul Hana Redevelopment project.

The ceremony includes Maghrib, Isyak and Tarawih prayers for the Muslim guests.

LCDA said that this event was part of its annual corporate social responsibility to give back the community in the hopes that it will ease the burden of the needy during this fasting month.

Also present were Utility Deputy Minister Datuk Dr Abdul Rahman Junaidi, Deputy Minister for Modernisation of Agriculture and Regional Development I Datuk Dr Abdul Rahman Ismail and LCDA Holdings Sdn Bhd (LHSB) chairman Tan Sri Datuk Amar Dr Abdul Aziz Datuk Husain.
