Neurocognitive Science Workshop and Symposium: A first in Sarawak

KUCHING: Faculty of Cognitive Sciences and Human Development, in collaboration with Sarawak Convention Bureau and Sarawak Neurofeedback Association, will be holding a workshop on April 6 and 7 at Merdeka Palace Hotel and Suites.
The symposium is an opportunity to discuss the potential of cognitive neuroscience in today’s world. The event will showcase many underrepresented and underrated themes, such as neurofeedback as a non-pharmacological approach, quantitative electroencephalography (qEEG) studies, power neuro-marketing, neuro-economics and advertisement, contemporary neuroscience technology using artificial intelligence, anthropology and cultural cognition and more.
The symposium assembles experts from Indonesia such as Dr Siti Aminah (Neuropediatric consultant), Dr Suzy Yusna Dewi (President of Indonesian Association of Child and Adolescent Mental Health) and Malaysia’s neuroscience experts such as Professor Dato Dr. Jafri Malin Abdullah (Professor of Neurosciences and the Director of P3Neuro; The Center for Neuroscience Services and Research, Universiti Sains Malaysia), Associate Professor Dr Norsiah Fauzan [Universiti Malaysia Sarawak (UNIMAS) lecturer and qEEG technology and neurofeedback therapy instructor], Dr Abdulrazak Yahya (UNIMAS), Dr Muhammad Sophian Nazaruddin (UNIMAS) and many more.
The launch of the event will be graced by the presence of UNIMAS Vice Chancellor, Professor Datuk Dr Mohamad Kadim Suaidi, on the first day of the symposium. The same session will also witness the launch of the Modul Pengajaran Program Celik Neurosains for primary schools in Malaysia.
