BAU: The new Bau district office complex which is currently in its final stage of construction is expected to start operating in May this year.

According to Sarawak Public Communications Unit (Ukas) in a report, Tasik Biru assemblyman Datuk Henry Harry Jinep said the building was built under the people’s project implemented by the Sarawak government.

“With this year marking the 90th anniversary of Bau district building which was built in 1931, the present operation is expected to move to the new building this May,” he said.

Earlier, Henry made a visit to look at the progress on the building construction.

He also said the Chief Minister Datuk Patinggi Abang Johari Tun Openg had been invited to declare open the new building.

Also present during the site visit were Bau district officer Anielia Siam and representatives of various government agencies.
