KUCHING: Chief Minister Datuk Patinggi Abang Johari Tun Openg received a courtesy call from new Dewan Bahasa dan Pustaka Sarawak Branch (DBP Sarawak) director Abang Haliman Abang Julai at his office at Wisma Bapa Malaysia here today.
Abang Haliman took up the post on August 12, replacing former DBP Sarawak director Abdul Wahab Hamzah who retired.
Abang Haliman served as the head of the Publishing Unit and deputy director of Language and Literature Development at DBP Sarawak before being promoted as the director of the DBP Southern Region.
He later moved to work as the head of the Literature Research Division at DBP Kuala Lumpur.
Also in the DBP delegation during the courtesy call was Assistant Minister of Education, Science and Technological Research Dr Annuar Rapaee.
