PUSA: A new district office is expected to be built here this year, said Batang Lupar MP Datuk Seri Rohani Abdul Karim.

“Construction works on the office will begin soon,” a news report by the Sarawak Public Communication Unit (UKAS) quoted her as saying during the Majlis Ramah Tamah Aidilfitri, organised at Dataran Tandang Sari, Pusa on Saturday (May 14).

Rohani said the Hari Raya celebration this year was very special and meaningful as it was celebrated with family members and friends, unlike the last two years where Raya was celebrated with strict adherence to the standard operating procedures (SOPs).

Rohani said although the country was in transition to the endemic phase, safety and personal health must be always be maintained.

She also advised the residents to get vaccinated at a clinic or vaccination centre nearby.

“It has proven to be effective in curbing the spread of COVID-19,” she said.

Rohani also took the opportunity to visit the residents at Rumah Panjang Merenggang, Muton.

A total of 50 food baskets were donated to 10 longhouses in the Beting Maro area to ease the burden of families in need ahead of the Gawai Day celebration.

Looking forward to helping Sarawak
