KUCHING: The main entrance to the Sarawak General Hospital (SGH) has been changed from through Lobby A Specialist Clinic to the Emergency Gateway, located adjacent to the new Day Care Centre.
Patients and visitors are therefore required to use the Emergency Gateway as the new ‘Drop-Off Point’ to the main lobby of SGH, Specialist Clinic and Day Care Centre.
“This is to reduce congestion especially during drop off patients’ time. The previous main entrance through Lobby A Specialist Clinic will now be used as ‘Pick-Up Point’ instead,” a statement issued by SGH today disclosed.
According to a statement issued by SGH today, the public had actually started to use to new drop-off point since July 19.
“This to ensure the comfort and smooth travel of vehicles entering the hospital grounds is not affected by the opening of a new building and multi-storey car park in the SGH area.”
On a separate note, the SGH has appealed to patients and visitors to always practise social distancing while waiting for their turn for treatment and to strictly follow the standard operating procedures (SOPs) that has been set.
The SGH management said visitors to could now use the multi-storey paid car park, located next to the Serapi Hotel building.
