KUCHING: The State Disaster Management Committee has issued new guidelines for entry to Sarawak for oil and gas workers effective today (Sep 1).

The committee said Malaysians from West Malaysia, Sabah, Labuan and foreign nationals would be admitted to quarantine centres to undergo compulsory 14-day quarantine.

“The rT-PCR test will be taken on the second and 10th day (of quarantine).

“If the test results are negative, they will then be allowed to go to the oil platform. Quarantine costs and rT-PCR test costs are borne by the respective employers,” it said in a statement issued today (Sep 1).

“The cost for Sarawakians will be borne by the Sarawak government while for non-Sarawakians, it will be at their own expenses,” it said.

Meanwhile, foreign nationals from abroad are required to go through the compulsory quarantine process as usual.

“Quarantine costs and rT-PCR testing are at their own expenses,” said SDMC.
