MIRI: The new Malaysian Red Crescent (MRC) Kidney Dialysis Centre in Permyjaya is expected to be ready for use in September this year, said Transport Minister Datuk Lee Kim Shin.

It is currently 90 percent completed, he said, adding that there were some delays in the construction works of the building due to the conditional movement control order (CMCO) following the Covid-19 pandemic.

“The centre, which will be fully equipped with 40 dialysis machines imported from Germany, can accommodate 249 patients,” he said on Saturday.

The project costs about RM5.4 million.

For the record, the existing dialysis centre at Jalan Bulan Sabit has 344 patients and is congested due to the increasing number of the patients.

The completion of the new building in Permyjaya will help to reduce congestion at the existing dialysis facility at Jalan Bulan Sabit.
