New landmarks to open to the public soon

DALAT: Three newly completed landmarks here – Taman Solidariti, Dalat Waterfront Phase2 and BazarNita Fatima will open to the public soon.

Welfare, Community Wellbeing, Women, Family and Childhood Development Minister Datuk Seri Fatimah Abdullah said Deputy Chief Minister Amar Awang Tengah Ali Hasan will declare open Taman Solidariti on Dec 12.

Meanwhile, Chief Minister Datuk Patinggi Abang Johari Tun Openg will launch the Dalat Waterfront Phase 2 and BazarNita Fatima projects on Dec 19.

“Taman Solidariti was conceptualised on their unity and harmony of the people in this area,” she said after chairing a meeting with relevant agencies at Dalat district office here yesterday (Dec 5), to discuss the opening ceremony for the three landmarks.

Fatimah, who is also Dalat assemblywoman added BazarNita Fatima building would be adorned with 183 small, medium and large-sized tapou (giant Melanau sunhat).

According to her, the building symbolises togetherness and unity in the multi-racial and multi-religious people in Dalat.

On Dalat Waterfront Phase 2, she revealed that the project began on June 22, 2018 and was completed on Oct 9, 2020 at a cost of RM4,346,000.

Fatimah also visited the site of Rumah Belanga (sago processing house) Kampung Balan, followed by a discussion with Dalat Agriculture Department.

She said the project costing RM80,000 under the Agriculture Facilitation Fund (AFF), was approved by Deputy Chief Minister Datuk Amar Douglas Uggah Embas  during the recent  Dalat AgriCOP programme.
