KUALA LUMPUR: The Agriculture and Agro-based Industry Ministry will draw up a new policy on the fisheries sector to curb the misuse of deep-sea fishing vessels in this country.
Its minister Datuk Salahuddin Ayub said the measures would include stopping the vessels that misused the licence.
“We need to take stern action to get rid of such vessels, not just foreign fishing vessels but also the existing vessels if they violate the regulations that we should be enforcing,” he said at the Dewan Rakyat sitting today. – Bernama
