BRAND NEW... The RM16-million SK Kampung Tellian is expected to become operational in April 2020.

MUKAH: SK Kampung Tellian whose construction has just been completed, is expected to become operational by the end of April next year.

Construction of this complete replacement for the old school started in January last year and was completed yesterday. It costed over RM16 million.

According to a spokesperson for the developer at the construction site, the school has a computer room, library, surau, 24 classrooms, music room, ‘Kemahiran Hidup’ room, science laboratory, pre-school, multimedia library, health clinic, sports management room, arts education room, showroom, bookstore, ‘Pendidikan Islam’ room and canteen.

The main contractor, Bispuri Sdn Bhd, stated that according to the schedule the project should be completed by the end of this year.

This is good news for the school staff, parents and residents of Kampung Seri Tellian (Tellian Tengah), Kampung Tellian Daya (Tellian Ulu) and Mukah in general as they have been waiting for the school for about 16 years.

BRAND NEW… The RM16-million SK Kampung Tellian is expected to become operational in April 2020.

At present, the road leading to the school is still being constructed.

The school was designed by Asaseni Sdn Bhd and the consultants were Optima Sdn Bhd (C&S Engineer), M.E.C. Engineering Technologies Sdn Bhd (M&E Engineer) and Kos Bina KCT Sdn Bhd (O&S Engineer).

The project was carried out after SK Kampung Tellian pupils and staff members were placed at SK Mukah 16 years ago because the old school’s two-storey semi-concrete building was unsafe.

The new 10-acre school site is in front of the old school building by Tellian Road about five kilometres from town.

The majority of the school’s pupils are from Kampung Seri Tellian and Kampung Tellian Daya.

It is understood that since using SK Mukah, most of the pupils’ parents complained that they had to spend more on transportation.
