PPKS and Matroll Solutions MoU

KUCHING: The recent signing of a memorandum of understanding (MoU) between Sarawak Skills Development Centre (PPKS) and Matroll Solutions was held on July 17 at the Sarawak Skills headquarters, Tabuan Jaya.

The MoU has paved the way for a host of educational and training initiatives in Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) and the Industry Revolution 4.0 (IR4.0).

The signatories to the MoU were Sarawak Skills executive director Hallman Sabri and Matroll Solutions, Kuala Lumpur director Loganathan Alagan.

“As a stakeholder in the transformation of Sarawak’s economic and digital landscape, this MoU is an important step forward for Sarawak Skills and Matroll Solutions to design and develop educational and training programmes in STEM and IR4.0. These programmes will be aligned with the state government’s post Covid-19 exit economic strategy up to 2030,” Hallman commented.

“As part and parcel of our ongoing initiatives to develop an agile workforce, the majority of these new programmes will be conducted online. With the option of blended learning, learners/trainees will be able to study at their own pace. This approach will go a long way to boost productivity across various sectors and industries.

“This tie-up with Matroll Solutions has added an important addition to our group of technology partners, which has allowed for our teaching staff to undergo the “Train-The-Trainer (TTT) Certification Course for STEM Trainers,” he added.

“The course covers important aspects of the IR4.0. This will contribute to the enhancement of our teaching and learning ecosystem, especially training our students to be IR4.0 ready. This will also be a springboard for Sarawak Skills to offer customised STEM workshops for school teachers and students in Sarawak.”

Also present at the signing of the MoU were Sarawak Skills education, training and student services deputy executive director Zakri Md Salleh and members of the management team.
