KAPIT: The new Sungai Yong Bridge in Kapit will be temporarily open for access following the closing of the existing Sungai Yong Bridge at KM30 Jalan Song-Kapit.

The Public Works Department (PWD) Central Region stated that the old bridge will be closed from Sept 7 to Sept 21 for maintenance work.

“Maintenance work will be carried out 24 hours to ensure it is completed in time, therefore road users may use the new bridge in the meantime.

“Traffic control workers will also be stationed at the maintenance area to monitor the flow of traffic,” it added in a statement yesterday (Sept 6).

It further mentioned that it will notify the public from time to time should there be changes in the date, time, or area involved in the maintenance work.

The public may contact the PWD Central Region office at 084-334 444 or Kapit Division PWD at 084-796 040 should they have any queries.
