SIBU: SMK St Elizabeth’s new toilet facility will be completed in three weeks’ time.

The new facility will have 21 toilets, two bathrooms, a toilet for people with disabilities and a storeroom.

Chairman of the school’s building committee, Temenggong Datuk Vincent Lau, and committee members Datuk Janet Lau, Teresa Lau, Reverend Father Paul Chee and Cathrine Robert Mowe — who is a former principal of the school — visited the project site yesterday to see its progress.

Principal Clement Chieng said the project, which was awarded to a local contractor SB Global under its owner Alex Ling — started in early December last year.

However, he declined to reveal the cost of the project.

Chieng said the old two-storey toilet facility, which was built 30 years ago, was no longer suitable for use.

“The major problem with the old toilet is leakage. Six years ago, we repaired it but the problem still occurred. So, we knocked it down and built a new one in its place,” he said.
