KAPIT: 10,000 people packed the Old Airport along Jalan Bukit Goram on Saturday to witness the semi-final of Anugerah Carta Siapa Juara (ACSJ) IV.

Eight singers were selcted for the final to be held at Dewan Tan Sri Stephen Kalong Ningkan Betong next month.

Officiating at the function was Hulu Rajang Member of Parliament Datuk Wilson Ugak Kumbong on behalf of a deputy chief minister Tan Sri Datuk Amar Dr. James Jemut Masing.

Those eight finalists were Jesley Jabu and Mathius Mambang with their song entitled ‘Padamka Nama aku’, Maxwell Taju Remaong with his song ‘Kemarau Pengerindu’, Lesley Ugil (‘Tinggal Kenang’) , Romy Majestica (‘Ais Ati’) , Depha Mp (‘Seiku Dalam Seribu’), Francis Basat (‘Perasa Ketegal Danji’), Francis Alvin (“Pengerindu Aku Enda Bebagi’) and Henry Usup and Embat Lala (‘Nujah Duri Menasan Puntan’).

Present at the function were a political secretary to the Chief Minister Nicholas Kudi Jantai, Kapit Resident Joseph Belayong, Kapit District Council walikota Philimon Nuing, Kapit deputy Resident Galong Luang, Kapit district officer Elvis Didit, Song district officer Jacklyn August, Bukit Mabong district officer Douglas Pungga, Kapit District Council secretary Jabang Juntan, administrative officers from Kapit Resident Office Wee Teck Min, Irene Merang, Mohd Wan Shukri community leaders and heads of the various government department.
