11th Joint Gawai Kaamatan Festival to be held on 1 July

KUCHING: The 11th Joint Gawai Kaamatan Festival, organised jointly by the Kadazandusun Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KCCI), Sabah, the Host and the Dayak Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Sarawak (DCCI), will be held on the 1 July, 2017 at Puteri Nabalu Hall, Kundasang, Sabah.

The 10th event last year was held at the Sarawak Cultural Village Santubong.

The KCCI organising committee said that many attractive programmes have been lined up.

On the morning of 1 July, 2017, a golf tournament will be held between members of KCCI & DCCI to vie for the YTan Sri Bernard Dompok’s Challenge Trophy.

Many other attractive prizes for individual scores are ready for grabs. In the evening, the 11th Gawai Kaamatan celebration will be held.
The organising committee, with the consent of the KCCI Supreme Council, has officially invited the Chief Minister of Sabah, Datuk Seri Panglima Musa Haji Aman to grace the event.

The President of KCCI Datuk Bonipasius Bianis and the President of DCCI, Datuk Joseph Salang Gandum will also be in attendance including Federal and State Cabinet Ministers, several senior government officials, local dignitaries and the corporate players from both Sabah and Sarawak.

The DCCI Joint Gawai Kaamatan Organising Committee Chairman Kilat Beriak, Deputy President DCCI, indicated that a strong delegation of 200 members from Sarawak will be attending the event and 20 tables’ dinner tickets have been allocated to DCCI Secretariat.

With a very appropriate theme, “Inculcating Wealth Creation Culture,” members of the two Chambers will continue with the traditional exchange of goodwill culture and business experiences, theme for year’s celebration is more reflective of the wish and desire of members of both KCCI and DCCI, to seek ways to improve our members participations in business and commerce in the two Borneo Malaysia States.
