16 gov’t agencies to involve in Tasik Biru Festival programmes

KUCHING:  A total of 16 state government and the federal government agencies are involved in the Tasik Biru Festival programmes to expose through the services they provide on this 22 till 24 September held at the Tasik Biru, Bau near here.

According to the Chairman of Organising committee Tasik Biru Festival 2017 who is also the Bau District Officer, Anielia anak Siam, with the organising of this festival, it could directly help the government to serve the people.

“The objective of organising the Tasik Biru Festival 2017 is to ensure all the people are not left behind in the organising of this programme.

“Among the agencies involved are Road Transport Department (JPJ), Department of Agriculture, FAMA and many more,” she said when reviewing the preparation of the festival, yesterday.

Bau will be an attraction centre from this Friday until Sunday with the inauguration of three major events held in conjunction with the 60th anniversary of the Bau District Council. These include the ground breaking ceremony of new building of Bau District Office Complex and the Tasik Biru Festival.

She added, 30 activities will take place during the festival including sports, education, entrepreneurship and community.

“Among the programmes are the Raft tug of war, Jong Regata, government agencies/ private agencies/ non-governmental organisations (NGOs) exhibition, video game competitions, chopping, colouring, street soccer, flower arrangement competition, arm wrestling competition and so forth.

The 60th Anniversary Celebration of Bau District Coucil and Tasik Biru Festival will be officiated at by Chief Minister Datuk Patinggi Abang Johari Tun Abang Openg.

At the event, the Chief Minister will also perform the ground breaking ceremony of new building of Bau District Office Complex.
