MIRI: Dai Lieng Group successfully held a blood donation drive at its headquarters at Jalan Manettia Piasau here yesterday morning.
At the event jointly organised by Dai Lieng Group and Sinopec Lubricant, 213 out of 277 people who registered managed to donate their blood.
The event was part of the corporate social responsibility of Dai Lieng Group and Sinopec Lubricant.
The event, assisted by the blood bank team of Miri Hospital, was to help replenish the dwindling blood stocks at the Miri General Hospital blood bank.
As a joint partner, Sinopec not only sponsored substantial mugs and car shades, its sales manager for Malaysia Edmund Sia was also present to support the event.
The organisers had specially purchased fresh chicken, eggs, fresh vegetables and cooking oil from local farms as tokens of appreciation to the successful blood donors.
The move was also to promote and support the local agricultural industry and products.
Dai Lieng Group said it was grateful to all the enthusiastic people involved, the blood bank team of Miri Hospital and Village Mobile Sound System Services which sponsored the mobile air-conditioning equipment to ensure a comfortable environment for the participants at the event.
