LUNDU: A total of 22 teams took part in the football championship N.3 Tanjong Datu State Assemblyman, Datuk Amar Datin Patinggi Hajah Jamilah Anu Cup 2017, which started last weekend.
Lundu District Officer, Awang Putrayusrie Awang Redzuan said most of the teams were from Lundu and Sematan districts area.
According to him, the tournament format is a the group league format and where the two best teams of each group will qualify for the ‘knockout’ round.
“The matches are only held every weekend and the final is expected to be held in late October,” said Awang Putrayusrie.
The opening ceremony of the championship on last weekend was officiated by N.3 Tanjong Datu State Assemblyman, Datuk Amar Datin Patinggi Hajah Jamilah Anu.
